Pickled Daylily Buds

About this recipe

Daylilies are prolific bloomers, each stalk can produce up to 20 flowers. Because of how fast they grow, I often pick them in the morning and evening. They bloom in late spring/early summer. Try to pick them about 3.5 inches long unopened.

Ingredients

  • Unopened Daylily Buds
  • White Vinegar
  • Distilled Water
  • Wild Ginger Powdered
  • Sugar.
  • Sliced Red Chili
  • Kosher Salt

Instructions

  1. Pack daylily buds in jar facing down.

  3. Turn off and let sit ten minutes.
  4. Pour over flower buds and seal.
  5. Let sit at least 2 weeks.

Ozarks Foragers Cooking Guide

I am writing a comprehensive cookbook about foraging and cooking Ozarks foraged foods. As an experienced wild foods chef with almost 15 years of experience cooking, I have decided it is time to share my accumulated knowledge with other aspiring wild foods chefs. This book will take a deep dive into foraging, fermenting, and cooking Ozarks wild foods.

This fundraiser will help raise the funds for photography, graphics, editing, and more. Thank you for your help in making this dream become a reality!
